Register for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) if your business has been affected by the lockdown during this challenging period. Affected businesses can claim for 80% of their employee’s wages plus any employer National Insurance and pension contributions, if employees have been put on furlough because of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

What is Furlough?

Under the government’s job retention scheme, eligibile companies can claim 80% of employee’s wages – up to a maximum of £2,500 per employee, per month before tax, or £576.92 a week. Furlough allows employees to stay on the payroll, even though they aren’t working. The company can top up this pay if it chooses and must let employees know they have been furloughed. Employees can’t do any work for their employer which creates revenue or provides a service if they have been furloughed. However, furloughed employees can perform volunteer work in the community.
